The exclusive Limited Edition orange vinyl of The Pogues’ fifth studio album ‘Hell’s Ditch’ – the last to feature frontman Shane MacGowan.
Produced by Joe Strummer and released on 6th November 1990, Hell’s Ditch is the fifth studio album by Irish folk punk band The Pogues. It marked a move away from the band’s traditional Irish sound and into new ideas of Rock and Folk.
Despite ongoing struggles, MacGowan can be seen at his lyrical best, showcasing his love for Asian and Latin themes on tracks such as ‘Summer in Siam’ and ‘Lorca's Novena’. With tensions in the band beginning to mount, The Pogues still managed to bring together new sounds and ideas with renewed vigour, creating a diverse album with almost every song a step into new musical territory. Hell’s Ditch producer Strummer later went on to fill in for MacGowan briefly on tour, before Spider Stacy took over the role in 1991.
This exclusive Limited Edition orange vinyl celebrates the albums 30th anniversary since it’s original release date.
